On September 29th, 2017, Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne joined IUPAT General President Kenneth Rigmaiden and other union dignitaries to announce the grand re-opening and renaming of the Finishing Trades Institute Training Centre located at 130 Toro Road in Toronto, Ontario.
DC 46 Director of Training Robert Bronk organized the successful re-opening and renaming of the Training Centre. Also in attendance were General Vice President Robert Kucheran and DC 46 Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer Bruno Mandic.
A number of special guests helped mark the occasion, including newly appointed Director of Training Brian Gingras, MP for York Centre Michael Levitt, MP for Humber River-Black Creek Judy Sgro, painting and glazing contractors, DC 38 Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer Jonathan Gaul, DC 38 President and Director of Training Patrick Byrne, trade association members and apprentices among others. Everyone enjoyed trying the new equipment and upgrades at the Training Centre.
